Relic Trailer Thrusts Emily Mortimer Into a Decaying Horror Nightmare

IFC Films has released a new trailer for the upcoming Horror Click Relic. This one may not be on the radar yet, but there are many possibilities. First of all, the Avengers: Directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are the executive producers. Natalie Erica James’ debut film was also a big hit after her Sundance debut last year. We now see a nightmare coming, the protagonist of which is Emily Mortimer (The Newsroom, Mary Poppins Returns).

The trailer starts with a girl looking for her old mother who seems to have disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Then she comes back under the same mysterious circumstances. Things begin to dissolve when an evil presence enters their lives. There’s a creepy hut, monsters hiding under the beds, remote places in the forest. A whole series of signs of potentially terrible horror. The trailer also makes use of the reviews the film has received so far.

Most of the positive elements are addressed to Natalie Erika James, who wrote the script together with Christian White in addition to her duties as director. Next to Emily Mortimer are the stars Bella Heathcote (Dark Shadows, Neon Demon) and Robin Nevin (Upper Middle God, Emerald City). Anna MacLeish, Sarah Shaw, Jake Gyllenhaal and Riva Marker are the producers, while Mike Larocca, Todd Macurat, Wang Zhongjun, Wang Zhonglei and Hu Juni are also executive producers.

The video focuses on Edna (Robin Nevin), who inexplicably disappears. His daughter Kay (Emily Mortimer) and granddaughter Sam (Bella Heathcote) rush to their old mansion. When they arrive, they’ll find evidence of their growing dementia scattered around the house. After Edna’s mysterious return, Kay is worried that her mother doesn’t seem to want or be able to say what the confrontation with Sam, who is very excited about his grandmother’s return, has led to. As Edna’s behavior becomes increasingly unpredictable, they both begin to feel that their evil presence in the house can take over.

The IFC did the most during the theatre stop. In recent months, the distributor has released several films, including The Unhappy One, and has been successful, especially thanks to the energy put into the theatres. Swallowing and how to build a girl is just as good, but not quite on the same level. It seems they were hoping to achieve this kind of success with another terrible result. And they have reason to believe he can put the flesh on the chairs. The film is currently 100% approved for rotten tomatoes. The performance at SXSW in Austin, Texas was scheduled before the festival was cancelled earlier this year, which would probably help increase its popularity as its release approached. The movie comes out on the 10th. July by IFC Films is released in theaters and on VOD. Check the new trailer.
