Nature in Focus Productions and Evanescence Studios put the spotlight on the people of Kanha and Earth Focus
Bengaluru: Nature inFocus, a leading production house, announced the launch of the short film Forgotten People along with Evanescence Studios. The film puts the spotlight on Earth Focus’s inspiring journey of empowering Kanha’s forest-dwelling communities and restoring its ecosystem.
The 8-minute film narrates the story of how Earth Focus has helped to create meaningful change in the lives of people who live in the buffer areas of Kanha National Park. Their holistic model creates sustainable livelihoods for forest dwellers by providing educational intervention, capacity building for nature-based livelihoods through the restoration of degraded land, and employment skilling in the local context.
“The work that Earth Focus is doing to empower the indigenous communities of Kanha is truly phenomenal. It was a story the world had to hear about!” said Sara, Evanescence Studios, the Director of the film.
Commenting on the launch of the film Rohit Varma, Nature inFocus, the Executive Producer said, “This project was a story close to our hearts and as a production house, we recognise the power of storytelling to inspire change. With the marvelous work and impact Earth Focus has had on Kanha in just three years, we as a team, are honored to work on this film to showcase the impactful change. Even if one individual reaches out to help or contribute, our mission is accomplished as the foundation needs our support”.
Earth Focus has adopted 15 villages, put 1200 children in school, restored 200 acres of land and transformed 6000 lives, in just three years. Commenting on the transformation, Vipul Gupta, Founder of Earth Focus, said, “As our work scales in response to the need on the ground and in partnership with local communities, we are seeking collaboration with people and organisations who believe in building a lasting change. I am confident that the film is an excellent showcase of our work and that it will inspire others to support us.”
The film will premiere on the Earth Focus YouTube channel on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, 2023.
